Waves and Words: An Insistence to Write

Red warning flag snapping in the wind on the Atlantic coast, reflecting stormy energy and the insistence to write.

A Quick Hello

It’s been a bit quiet here, I know — life has been full in the best and busiest ways. I slipped away on vacation last week, and somewhere between the stillness and the stretch of days, five more chapters of my book took shape, carrying me deep into the climactic scenes. They came home with me like one of the seashells I tucked into my bag, still echoing with the crash of storm-driven waves along the Atlantic. While I was there, a hurricane blew through, an insistence to stay inside a little longer and write.

The chapters themselves hold too many spoilers to share just yet, but here’s one small haiku that surfaced inside them:

Splintered breath runs thin,
Body screams with blinding force—
the dark does not yield.

Thank you for being here, even in the in-between.

Love,
Karin (with an eye)
